Job Title: Cleaning Supervisor


Location: Musselburgh
Job Type: Temporary Part Time
Pay Rates: Neg depending on experience

Be Personnel are looking to recruit a cleaning Supervisor to work at Musselburgh Races during 2016 season - over 30 race days in 2015 (approx. 240 working hours per annum).

Hours of work: approx. 8 hours per day

Role Objectives
•To have the overall responsibility for the practical organisation of the day to day
cleaning operation
•In consultation with the Be Personnel, to identify the number of cleaning staff
required to maintain a race course
•To monitor stocks of cleaning equipment and materials in order that orders can be
placed on a timely basis.
•To organise appropriate training for all cleaning and litter picking staff

Role Tasks
•To maintain a flexible cleaning schedule of all internal and external areas of the Race Course
•Ensure that identified key areas receive priority at all times
•Liaise with the Race Course Caretaker and Be Personnel and review the monthly
calendar to identify Racing events
•Check during race days that all areas of the course are cleaned to a satisfactory standard
•Undertake any additional cleaning duties as directed, by the Race Course Caretaker
•Maintain cleaning staff attendance logs and timesheets for submission to the Be Personnel
•To be responsible during the race days personnel management of the cleaning staff,
and consulting with the Be Personnel on any necessary formal procedures.
•Produce on a monthly basis order forms for equipment, uniform and materials
•Report any customer complaints or compliments and take some remedial action if at all possible.
•Report immediately any incidents of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage or other irregularities to the Race Course Caretaker.
•Develop and carry out induction procedures with all new staff and identify any further training needs for current staff
•To ensure that all Health & Safety procedures are followed, in accordance with Race Course guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have:
•Experience in a supervisory role within the cleaning industry
•Attention to detail and high standards of work
•A Good understanding of Health and Safety regulations
•Customer service experience
